ASTONISHING Kuala Lumpur Twin Tower...

Twin Tower at night...
Have you wondered who created this remarkable twin tower ?

'' The Petronas Towers (also known as the Petronas Twin Towers or KLCC) are skyscrapers and twin towers in Kuala Lumpur,Malaysia. They were the tallest buildings in the world from 1998 to 2004 until surpassed by Taipei 101, but remain the tallest twin buildings in the world.[5]The building is the landmark of Kuala Lumpur with nearby Kuala Lumpur Tower. ''

comparison with the other towers
The Petronas Towers were the tallest buildings in the world for six years, until Taipei 101 was completed in 2004. The height of the towers is measured to the top of their structural components such as spires, but do not include antennas.[6] Spires are considered actual integral parts of the architectural design of buildings, to which changes would substantially change the appearance and design of the building, whereas antennas may be added or removed without such consequences. The Petronas Towers still remain the tallest twin buildings in the world.[7]

Willis Tower
(formerly Sears Tower) and the World Trade Center towers were each constructed with 110 occupied floors – 22 more than the 88 floors of the Petronas Towers. Willis Tower’s tallest antenna is 247.4 ft taller than those of the Petronas Towers, however, in accordance to CTBUH regulations and guidelines,[8] the antennas of Willis Tower were not counted as part of its architectural features.[9] The spires on the Petronas Towers are included in the height since they are not antenna masts. Therefore, the Petronas Towers exceed the official height of Willis Tower by 10 m.

History

Designed by Argentine architects César Pelli and Djay Cerico under the consultancy of Julius Gold and Filipino engineer Domingo Basa, the Petronas Towers were completed in 1998 after a seven year build and became the tallest buildings in the world on the date of completion.[10]They were built on the site of Kuala Lumpur's race track.[11] Because of the depth of thebedrock, the buildings were built on the world's deepest foundations.[12] The 120-meter foundations were built within 12 months by Bachy Soletanche and required massive amounts of concrete.[13] Its engineering designs on structural framework were contributed by Haitian engineer Domo Obiasse and colleagues Aris Battista and Princess D Battista.
The 88-floor towers are constructed largely of reinforced concrete, with a steel and glass facade designed to resemble motifs found inIslamic art, a reflection of Malaysia's Muslim religion.[14] Another Islamic influence on the design is that the cross section of the towers is based on a Rub el Hizb, albeit with circular sectors added to meet office space requirements.[15] Tower 1 was built by a Japanese consortium led by the Hazama Corporation while Tower 2 was built by Samsung C&T and Kukdong Engineering & Construction, both South Korean contractors.[citation needed] The sky bridge contract was completed by Kukdong Engineering & Construction. Thus, Tower 2 became the first to reach the world's tallest building at the time.

Skybridge

skybridge connects the two towers...
The towers feature a skybridge between the two towers on 41st and 42nd floors, which is the highest 2-story bridge in the world.[22] It is not attached to the main structure, but is instead designed to slide in and out of the towers to prevent it from breaking during high winds.[23] The bridge is 170 m (558 ft) above the ground and 58 m (190 ft) long, weighing 750 tons.[24] The same floor is also known as the podium, since visitors desiring to go to higher levels have to change elevators here. The skybridge is open to all visitors, but tickets are limited to 1700 people per day, and must be obtained for free on a first-come, first-served basis.[25] Visitors are only allowed on the 41st floor as the 42nd floor can only be used by the tenants of the building.[26]
The skybridge also acts as a safety device, so that in the event of a fire or other emergency in one tower, tenants can evacuate by crossing the skybridge to the other tower.[27] The total evacuation triggered by a bomb hoax on September 12, 2001 (the day after the September 11 attacks destroyed the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City) showed that the bridge would not be useful if both towers need to be emptied simultaneously, as the capacity of the staircases was insufficient for such an event.[28] Plans thus call for the lifts to be used if both towers need to be evacuated, and a successful drill following the revised plan was conducted in 2005.

The Magical Messi.

Messi with his Ballon d'Or award.
Have you seen Messi face to face ?
''  Argentina's Lionel Messi receives the FIFA Ballon d'Or award on January 10, 2011 at the Kongresshaus during the FIFA Ballon d'Or ceremony in Zurich. The three finalists for the 2011 Ballon d'Or are Spain's Xavi Hernandez, Spain's Andres Iniesta and Argentina's Lionel Messi who all play for Barcelona  ''

Lionel Andrés "Leo" Messi who is born 24 June 1987 is an Argentine footballer who currently plays for FC Barcelona and the Argentina national team as a forward or winger. He also holds Spanish citizenship, which makes him eligible as a EU player. Considered one of the best football players of his generation and frequently cited as the world's best contemporary player, Messi received several Ballon d'Or and FIFA World Player of the Year nominations by the age of 21 and won both by the age of 22. He also won the 2010 FIFA Ballon d'Or at the age of 23. His playing style and ability have drawn comparisons to Diego Maradona, who himself declared Messi his "successor".
Messi began playing football at a young age and his potential was quickly identified by Barcelona. He left Rosario-based Newell's Old Boys's youth team in 2000 and moved with his family to Europe, as Barcelona offered treatment for his growth hormone deficiency. Making his debut in the 2004–05 season, he broke his team record for the youngest footballer to score a league goal. Major honours soon followed as Barcelona won La Liga in Messi's debut season, and won a double of the league and Champions League in 2006. His breakthrough season was in the 2006–07 season; he became a first team regular, scoring a hat-trick in El Clásico and finishing with 14 goals in 26 league games. Perhaps his most successful season was the 2008–09 season, in which Messi scored 38 goals to play an integral part in a treble-winning campaign. In the following 2009–10 campaign, Messi scored 47 goals in all competitions, equalling Ronaldo's record total for Barcelona.
powerful dribbling skill

Messi was the top scorer of the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship with six goals, including two in the final game. Shortly thereafter, he became an established member of Argentina's senior international team. In 2006, he became the youngest Argentine to play in the FIFA World Cup and he won a runners-up medal at the Copa América tournament the following year. In 2008, in Beijing, he won his first international honour, an Olympic gold medal, with the Argentina Olympic football team.

My new life in UTP .

UTP

Have you ever heard about UTP ?
'' This UTP has produced many graduated students every year with the well-rounded personality and pursue by many private companies '' .

UTP means University Technology Petronas which was established on January 10, 1997 when PETRONAS was invited by the Malaysian government to set up a university.

For your information, I had received the offer letter by this best university in Malaysia. First time I arrived here, I feel clumsy as I did not know a lot of people here. They can speak english very good and looking smart always.
Currently, I am studying foundation for 3 semester in 1 year. Then, I will further my study in bachelor of petroleum engineering. UTP is the best place for me to continue my study as this is best chance for me to improve my soft skills and compete with the other intellectual students.

My first impression for this university is it looks sophisticated. This university provides me many good facilities, futuristic building and nice environment. One of the building is Chancellor Complex. This building is very advanced building. It can attract someone dream thoroughly to study here.

Other than that, it is hard for me to adapt myself  in UTP. This is because it is my first time for me to study in university not school life. It really makes me shocked. But I know that maybe one day I will be a best student among the others here.
